The Salvation Army of Emporia will have a government commodity food box distribution this week.
There will be a 60-minute window for pickup between 1-2 pm Wednesday outside the Salvation Army Annex, 209 West fourth.
Residents wanting a food box are told to line up in front of the Annex and face east towards downtown because boxes will not be taken to westbound vehicles. Residents also need to provide a photo ID, family name, number of people in the household and Lyon County address.
Residents needing to use a proxy for pickup need to have a 2024 Salvation Army proxy form on file. Residents with questions can call the Salvation Army office at 620-342-3093.
