Residents using several major cell phone providers need to make adjustments if they need to call Lyon County 911 or the Emergency Communications non-emergency line.
Emergency Communications says there are apparently national outage affecting AT&T, T Mobile and Verizon. People needing help, either for calls to 911 or 620-343-4225, are advised to try calling out using the respective WiFi network. Customers may have to use different service providers to make these calls.
The AT&T outage is affecting several secondary providers, including AT&T First Net, Cricket Wireless and Net 10.

Residents using AT&T and secondary providers using the AT&T phone network need to use different service providers until further notice if they need to call 911.
Lyon County Emergency Communications says there is an apparently national outage affecting both 911 and non-emergency calls. Besides AT&T, this also appears to be impacting providers like AT&T First Net, Cricket Wireless and Net 10.
The outage apparently started around 3 am Central time. For some customers, it’s the second outage this week.
T Mobile and Verizon customers nationwide are also experiencing service issues, but Lyon County Emergency Communications says those do not appear to be affecting incoming calls, either for emergency or non-emergency situations.
