Five members of the Emporia High bowling team qualified for state Thursday in Hutchinson.
Three Spartans qualified for state, Morgan Liggett was second with a 644 series and Caydrick Crouch was eighth with a 598 series. Colton Swift also qualified for state he finished 11th. The Spartans finished one spot out of qualifying for state as a team as they finished fourth with a series of 3,129. Taylor McKay and Danika Williams qualified for state on the girls side. McKay finished eighth with a series of 535. Williams finished 16th with a 497. As a team, the Lady Spartans finished sixth with a series of 2,330. The Class 5A State Bowling Championships will be held next Friday at Northrock Lanes in Wichita.
