Five of the six lady Spartan wrestlers are still alive at the 6-5A State wrestling tournament. Heily Batres (105), Katina Keosybounheuang (120), Kensley Medrano (130), Virginia Munoz (140) and Alexa Castillo (235) were all 1-1 on day one. Keosybounheuang, Medrano and Castillo all won their first round matches, Medrano by decision 8-2 and Castillo and Keosybounheuang by fall. Batres and Munoz were defeated in their opening round matches, Batres by fall and Munoz by decision. Both wrestlers would win their first round consolation match by fall. All five will wrestle in the consolation second round to begin day two at 9 am Friday. Sophomore Yanelli Carranza was 0-2 on the day losing by fall in the third period of her opening round match and losing by decision 7-5 in the first round of consolations.
