Emporia State University is getting ready for its annual Bonner & Bonner Diversity Lecture on March 7.
The keynote speaker is Wesley Hamilton, the founder of Disabled But Not Really — a nonprofit designed to empower people with disabilities to reach their full potential. Hamilton’s theme is “Overcoming Any Obstacles by Allowing Disruptions,” and he plans to discuss how to embrace obstructions and find positive lessons, regardless of the experience.
The Bonner & Bonner Lecture was named after Doctors Thomas and Mary Bonner, Emporia State’s first African American faculty members. The lecture is at 7 pm March 7 at Albert Taylor Hall. It’s free and open to the public. Unlike past years, no tickets are required to attend.
