A man charged with aggravated robbery and other charges after an alleged incident at Emporia’s Eastgate apartment complex nearly two years ago has reached a plea agreement in his case.
On Wednesday, Keno Emmanuel Hopkins pleaded no contest to aiding and abetting aggravated battery and being a felon in possession of a firearm in a case dating back to July 2022. All other counts, including aggravated robbery, theft and vehicular burglary, were dropped.
Sentencing is April 11. Prosecutors and Hopkins’ defense team have agreed to consecutive mitigated prison terms with a controlling sentence of 32 months.
Hopkins and Shedrick Williams were accused of using a handgun to rob Harold Stewart of a cell phone and car keys. Williams has a pretrial conference March 21.
