Flint Hills Technical College honored one of its longstanding business partners Friday night.
Vektek Inc. received the college’s second annual Prairie Fire Award. Vektek President Troy Estes says the partnership dates back to Vektek’s origins in the mid-1980s and is rooted in the high quality of training provided by the college.
Flint Hills Technical College Foundation President Mike Crouch says this is a mutually beneficial partnership.
The Prairie Fire Award reflects a college partner’s ongoing support of and commitment to the college. In Vektek’s case, the company has hired numerous college graduates for company positions, provided scholarship funding and equipment, underwritten the annual Gala Benefit and Auction and had employees serve on the college’s Board of Trustees or different college committees.
