The Emporia State men’s tennis team started conference play with an MIAA/GAC win on the road at Augustana on Sunday in Sioux Falls, S. D. The Hornets won five of six singles matches to knock off the Vikings 5-2. Augustana swept doubles play to take the doubles point. Hachem Fahem won in straight sets in #6 singles and was backed up with a straight set victory by Diego Calvo. After a loss at #1 singles, Mostafa Elbasnaly took #2 singles before Harrison Brown clinched the match at #4 singles. Lleyton Fosha wrapped up the event with a win in three sets at #6 singles. The Hornets return to action in Dallas this weekend to play two neutral site duals against Western New Mexico and Southern Arkansas.
