Emporia Spartan Boxing masters competitor Robert Sieberns had a strong showing in his first international competition this past weekend.
Sieberns competed at the 2024 Las Vegas Masters Boxing Championships finishing as the tournament runner-up in the 156-165 with a record of 1-1. Sieberns won his opening round contest via decision over Colorado’s Scott Wintenburg Saturday to advance to the tournament finals.
Sieberns turned in a strong showing in the finals Sunday, but would lose a decision to California’s Guillermo Medrano. Sieberns is now 2-1 as an amateur and was the only Kansas representative in this past weekend’s competition.
