SOS is set to have a new director for its Child Advocacy Center at the end of the week.
Ginny Samples steps into the role starting on March 1. Samples will over see both the Lyon and Coffey County Child Advocacy Centers. In this role, Samples will organize and facilitate collaboration of a group of community professionals representing child protective services, legal law enforcement mental health, medical and other disciplines to provide a coordinated team response when a child repots abuse or where there is reason to believe a child has been abused or neglected.
Prior to being named director, Samples has been the Family Coordinator of the SOS Child Advocacy Center. In this role, Samples provided wrap around services to victims and their non-offending family members. Prior to joining SOS, Samples worked at St. Francis Ministries in family preservation and for the Kansas Children’s Service League’s Healthy Families program.
To report abuse or neglect of an adult or child, contact the Kansas Protection Report Center by calling 1-800-922-5330.
