The Emporia Community Foundation’s 11th annual Match Day isn’t until Nov. 18, but a major component in the upcoming event begins Monday.
The application window opens at noon Monday and closes at 5 pm March 29. The list of participants will be revealed on KVOE’s airwaves May 13.
Chief Executive Officer Becky Nurnberg says charitable organizations need to meet several criteria to be eligible for Match Day:
*Organizations need an operating budget of up to $175,000
*Organizations must have a Community Foundation fund
*Organizations must have their headquarters in and serve at least one county in the Community Foundation coverage area
Nurnberg also says the Match Day Committee has some tough decisions ahead, if last year was any indication.
More information is available at emporiacf.org.
When it comes to Match Day in November, the event will be held at the Community Foundation office, 527 Commercial. Donors can give at the office or online through emporiamatchday.com.
Match Day’s financial impact has grown every year since it was established. Last year, over 1,400 donors contributed to a total of almost $668,000 split among 35 organizations. The 10-year fundraising total for Match Day is at almost $3.1 million, benefiting nearly 60 profits in Lyon and surrounding counties in the process.
