VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System is encouraging military servicewomen and female veterans to join a virtual town hall later this month.
The event is March 21 from 6-7 pm. Veterans can join by video or phone.
On KVOE’s monthly VA Update on Monday, spokesperson Heather Jones said the town hall is designed to reach out to over 13,000 female soldiers in Kansas, Arkansas, Iowa and Missouri, including the 4,400 women enrolled and receiving care through the VA’s Eastern Kansas Health Care System. It also can serve as a way for some veterans to learn more about the health services available through the VA, including a range of physical health services.
The VA offers maternity and gynecological care, emergency departments, radiology, lab, menopause treatments and other aspects of physical health. Jones also says the VA also offers a range of behavioral health and mental health services, as well as nutrition, different categories of therapy and same-day social work.
