Emporia City Commissioners could approve a pair of items related to the potential future sale of an Emporia park when they convene Wednesday.
As part of their regular action meeting, commissioners may approve a resolution designating Quaker Park as surplus real property. If approved, commissioners will then consider a resolution for city staff to publish a notice of the proposed sale.
Wednesday’s resolutions follow a request earlier this year from the Emporia Land Bank which was seeking the sale or transfer of the property with hopes of using the park for future residential development.
Commissioners will also consider awarding the 2024 hazardous sidewalk program project to S.R. Coffman and Construction. An ERP software agreement with Tyler Technologies and an agreement with Client First Technologies for implementation, a petition and resolution for designating the Emporia West Plaza as a community improvement district and an ordinance about weeds and grass will also see consideration.
Commissioners have one executive session planned before they move into their regular study session. During that time, commissioners will discuss adopting a revised compensation plan, rescheduling the commission’s April 17th meeting and a city-wide grant application.
The meetings will begin at 11 am inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium before moving to City Conference Room 1AB.
