The city of Emporia has closed down the community-built park and playground at Peter Pan Park for an update project.
New fence is being installed, with the longstanding wooden planks removed and chain link installed in their place. New slides will also be installed.
This project should be done by the end of March, but the city says that could be delayed if there are “any disturbances during the renovation process.” Fence picket donors are asked to call the City Parks Office at 620-341-4365 to discuss pickup arrangements.
The park was built in 2008, thanks to a partnership between the city and Leathers and Associates.
