Residents of Strong City and residents served by Chase County Rural Water District 1 are urged to take part in a special special survey related to their water service lines.
Customers of both entities are asked to identify the material — or materials — used for their water service, whether lead, copper, galvanized steel or plastic. Once that process is done, customers can then fill out a survey. We have the link at KVOE.com.
Customers can get $10 off their May utility bill as a credit, but they have to answer all survey questions.
This is part of “Get the Lead Out,” a response to the Environmental Protection Agency’s recent update to the federal Lead and Copper Rule. Lead was used regularly in home and building construction until the late 20th Century, and it’s known for causing serious health issues, especially for infants, young children and pregnant women.
