Boy Scouts of America’s Jayhawk Council had its Friends of Scouting fundraising kickoff event in Emporia on Wednesday.
Boy Scout and Eagle Scout alum Skyler Delmott was the featured speaker at the Bowyer Community Building. He tells KVOE News different Scouting activities provided a lot of life skills.
Around $20,000 has already been raised for this year’s effort. Funds will support a range of local Scout activities, programs and projects.
To donate, call District Director Ian Lamb at 785-276-3345 or go online to donations.scouting.org. For more information about being a Scout, go online to BeAScout.org or JayhawkCouncil.org.
