The Missouri Southern baseball team scored four runs in the seventh inning on the way to a 5-0 win in game one of a three-game series Friday in Joplin, Mo. MoSo dented the scoreboard first with a run in the bottom of the third before blowing the game open with four runs in the seventh. ESU managed only three hits in the game and was shut out for the first time this season. ESU has now lost all three of its MIAA series openers this year. Cade Barton (1-3) lasted 6.0 innings for the Hornets allowing five hits with just one earned run with three strikeouts and three walks to take the loss. E-State falls to 12-9 on the season and 3-4 in conference play. The Lions improve to 18-4. Game two is set for 1:00 p.m. Saturday with the series finale at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
