A man facing attempted first-degree murder and over 20 other counts of allegedly violent activity is set for trial in June.
Travis Wade Westcott has a status hearing June 5, followed by trial June 10 after a hearing recently in Lyon County District Court. Westcott is currently facing 25 total counts, including attempted first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery, aggravated witness intimidation, stalking and criminal threat. The charges involve several alleged incidents between January 2020 and May 2023, including allegedly trying to kill a woman in October 2022.
After allegedly violating bond conditions late last year, Westcott was charged with aggravated intimidation and violating a protection order. That case is set for a separate trial tentatively set to begin either April 8, April 22 or May 13 after a status hearing April 3. On Friday, Judge Jeff Larson granted a state motion for reciprocal discovery and a second state motion in limine to exclude improper statements during jury selection, opening statements and closing arguments.
