The fire danger is increasing considerably across the KVOE listening area.
High temperatures in the 70s through at least Wednesday and wind gusts as high as 25-30 mph will keep the danger elevated to start the week. Osage County is in a burn ban for Monday; the county emergency management department will review the situation Tuesday morning. Currently, no other area counties are in a burn ban of any duration.
The fire danger has increased quickly after area residents got the first rainfall in a month, with anywhere from one to nearly three inches of rain reported Thursday.
KVOE and KVOE.com will keep you updated on the fire situation as conditions warrant.
