The Emporia Granada Theatre is now under new leadership.
Previous director Stacey Schneider has resigned, telling KVOE News she wants to devote more time to family after recent changes in her life. Board of Directors Vice President Mike Helbert has confirmed Halfway to Everywhere CEO Hank Osterhout, a current board member, has agreed to serve as director.
Schneider had led the theater since August 2022 following roughly 2.5 years at the helm from Rebeca Herrera and will stay on as assistant director. Osterhout, meanwhile, has overseen the Halfway to Everywhere Music and Arts Festival since 2019 and Kansas Free for Arts for several years before that. Halfway and Kansas Free for Arts began merging in summer 2023.
