Without their top two scorers, the #16/No. 6 Jayhawks were listless on offense in a 72-52 second round defeat to No. 11 Cincinnati at the Big 12 Tournament at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City on Wednesday. KJ Adams was 9-for-14 from the field but was the only Jayhawk to score in double figures finishing with 22 points. Kansas held the Bearcats to 38% shooting from the field but managed to shoot just 34%. Cincinnati finished 9-for-26 from outside the arc while KU hit just 3 of 20 3-point shots. Kevin McCullar and Hunter Dickinson both missed the game for the Jayhawks. KU trailed 38-25 at the half and cut the deficit to two in the second, but the Bearcats ended the game on a 14-3 run over the last four minutes of the contest. The Jayhawks fall to 22-10 on the season and will await their NCAA Tournament seeding on Sunday. We’ll have coverage of Selection Sunday from Westwood One beginning at 5:00 p.m. on KVOE.
