With SOS Executive Director Connie Cahoone set to retire at the end of the month, she will get to leave something behind.
Cahoone will be remembered with SOS establishing the Connie Cahoone Legacy of Hope Fund. Funds will be announced during SOS’ Hope-A-Palooza on March 29th at the Emporia Granada Theatre.
On KVOE’s Newsmaker 2 Segment on Wednesday, SOS Board of Directors Vice Chair Tyler Curtis says having a fund honoring Cahoone’s legacy is a way to remember for what she’s done for the organization.
Curtis says this fund will help the leader of SOS, which is set to be Mickey Edwards who will start her duties on March 29, have the resources they need to provide what’s needed with the programs SOS provides.
SOS Community Relations Director Cara Codney says there have been cuts to grant funding recently, which makes having this fund available is beneficial.
Codney says the response for donations to the fund has been overwhelming and she’s anxiously waiting to reveal the total to Cahoone.
Tickets for the dinner, auction, and Joseph Hall’s Elvis Rock N’ Remember Tribute Show are sold out, however, show-only tickets are still available for $20. You can purchase tickets online at https://www.soskansas.com/hope-a-palooza.
