Lawmakers representing Lyon County and area residents are coming together Saturday.
The second Legislative Dialogue of the 2024 session takes place at the Flint Hills Technical College Metcalf Building, or main campus. Light refreshments will be served at 8, with a roughly hourlong conversation beginning at 8:30 am.
17th District Senator Jeff Longbine and 60th District Representative Mark Schreiber, both of Emporia, have confirmed they will attend. 76th District Representative Eric Smith has given a soft confirmation, depending on his duties as Coffey County Undersheriff.
Dialogues give residents a chance to hear lawmakers give their views on different bills and policies, and they give residents a chance to quiz lawmakers on issues important to them.
Dialogues are sponsored by the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce Government Matters Committee and the League of Women Voters Emporia chapter.
