Jane Grimley-Gunn was formally introduced as Emporia State’s sixth head coach in program history today at the Sauder Alumni Center. Athletic director David Spafford talked about involving the team in the hiring process.
He also spoke about the year one expectations of the team.
Coach Grimley-Gunn talked about bonding with the Lady Hornets.
She said her team is ambitious.

Sophomore defender Abby Bachman talked about meeting her new coach.
She says the expectations won’t change much for her junior season in 2024.
Bachman said it was great to be included in the hiring process.
Emporia State is coming off a 14-6-4 season after finishing 8-2-1 in the MIAA and winning the association’s tournament title. ESU fell in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament to end the year.
