Most of the National Weather Service’s spotter training sessions for area residents are taking place over the next week-plus:
*Wednesday: Coffey County 4-H Building, 7 pm
*Monday: Chase County Community Center, 6:30 pm
*March 27: Emporia State Memorial Union Preston Family Room, 7 pm
Presentations typically last 60-90 minutes and delve into different kinds of storms, cloud features that indicate a storm’s severity, severe weather safety and hazardous weather reporting procedures.
Whenever severe weather is part of the weather picture or threatening the KVOE listening area, we will provide you information from the National Weather Service, KVOE staff and our network of KVOE Storm Team volunteer spotters.
