The Emporia Recreation Commission’s New Rec Center Steering Committee has its next meeting Thursday afternoon.
After getting information and points of research from Rec Commission staff, Steering Committee members will review the Request for Qualifications needed to secure an architectural firm and engineering firm before discussing whether to hire an independent facilitator.
The meeting is at 3:30 pm at the Lee Beran Recreation Center.
The Steering Committee has been tasked with recommending whether the Rec Commission — and, by extension, the city of Emporia — should build a brand-new public recreation facility or renovate and dramatically expand the Lee Beran Recreation Center.
