Bond modification requests will be addressed in two notable Lyon County cases Thursday.
Antoine Moliere will appear before Judge Jeff Larson at 11 am. He has asked to reduce bond from $150,000 to $25,000, citing limited income and health issues as reasons he can’t post bond.
Moliere is currently facing one count of rape against a maximum five-year-old child after alleged activity between February and April last year. He’s also accused of an alternate count of aggravated indecent liberties against the same child for alleged activity in December. He’s tentatively set for trial beginning July 15.
Right after that hearing is completed, Judge Larson will hear a bond modification request from Travis Duane Edwards in his vehicular murder case. Edwards has asked for his bond to be trimmed from $50,000 to $25,000 for medical treatments.
Edwards is charged will killing 29-year-old Ryan Miller of Independence, Missouri, and 32-year-old Jacob Suenram of Lawrence as part of a five-vehicle fatality wreck on US Highway 50 near Road C on April 5. Edwards and three others were hurt. Edwards is also charged with three counts of aggravated battery and one count of interfering with law enforcement.
