Bond modification hearings in two significant Lyon County cases will be delayed.
Hearings will be rescheduled later in the vehicular murder case against Travis Edwards and the rape case involving Antoine Moliere. Rick Meier, the attorney for both defendants, says there have been delays in obtaining medical records for both cases.
Edwards is accused of killing two people during a five-vehicle fatality crash that happened on US Highway 50 about four miles west of Emporia in early April 2023. He’s accused of two counts of second-degree murder as well as three counts of aggravated battery and one count of interference with law enforcement. Edwards’ next hearing is a pretrial conference May 10.
Moliere is accused of raping a maximum five-year-old child between February and April 2023. There is one count of rape in the case, along with an alternate count of aggravated indecent liberties for alleged activity with the same child this past December. Moliere is currently set for trial to begin July 15.
