Construction processes are underway at William Allen White as part of the Building for the Future bond package.
Superintendent Allison Anderson-Harder had an update on KVOE’s monthly Showcase program this week:
William Allen White will also have a media center, heating ventilation and air conditioning work throughout the building and renovated kindergarten classrooms.
William Allen White is the last school to see major renovations and enhancements through the nearly $80 million Building for the Future bond, which was approved in 2019 and saw construction begin the following year. Work is now done at all other district schools.
Leading into the fall 2022 semester, there were tentative plans to “pause” operations at William Allen White in light of a districtwide staffing shortage and ongoing enrollment declines, both for the school and district, at that time. The district ultimately decided to keep the school open and continue with renovation plans.
