There is a hearing on the Lyon County docket next month in an Emporia aggravated robbery case.
Shedrick Williams was set for a pretrial hearing Thursday but that was continued to 2 pm April 11 at defense request. The hearing is listed as a plea hearing on the Kansas District Court Public Access Portal.
Williams and Keno Hopkins were charged soon after an alleged shooting incident at Emporia’s Eastgate Apartment complex in July 2022. Prosecutors say both used a handgun to rob a man of a cell phone and car keys. Williams is charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and theft. Hopkins, who pleaded no contest to aiding and abetting aggravated battery and being a felon in possession of a firearm, will be sentenced April 11.
