Funeral services are coming next week for longtime Emporia insurance agent Dwight Metcalf, who passed away this week at the age of 76.
Metcalf was born in Breckenridge, Colorado, and his family moved to Fort Scott before he served in the US Navy following high school. Metcalf also graduated from Emporia Kansas State College, now known as Emporia State University, and he worked for years at Farmers Insurance before retirement.
A celebration of life, including military honors, will be held at 2 pm Monday at First United Methodist Church. A gathering will follow at 627 Event Space, 627 Commercial in downtown Emporia.
