The basketball courts of Emporia State’s Student Rec Center were well utilized for a good cause on Saturday.
The inaugural Adam Tebben’s 3v3 basketball tournament was held with a turnout of teams ranging from youth to adults.
Emporia State junior Maya Bishop says the Emporia community steps up with fundraisers like this. With her being on the Rudd Scholarship, Bishop says she’s fortunate to help out and play basketball for a good cause.
Prior to Saturday’s Flint Hills Optimist Club’s All-Star Basketball Classic, Lebo senior Dominic Risner took part in the festivities to give back and get warmed up for the game.
Tebben and two other Air Evacuation Lifeteam crew members were killed after their helicopter crashed near Weatherford, Oklahoma in January.
Funds will benefit the Adam Tebben’s Memorial Scholarship Fund for Nursing at Emporia State. Funds from Saturday’s event are pending.
