An amendment to the memorandum of understanding for the Emporia Recreation Center steering committee gained unanimous approval Monday morning.
During a special meeting, the ERC Board approved the amendment that will now require a unanimous 7-0 vote by the steering committee for any future adjustments. The committee consists of representatives of the ERC, USD 253 Board of Education, Emporia City Commission and Lyon County Commission and is charged with overseeing the development of either a new or updated rec center in the future.
Monday’s action comes almost a week after the steering committee approved its first major item of business approving a Request for Qualifications to select an architecture firm to handle the design work of the new or updated facility.
