Formal charges have been filed against an Emporia man after an alleged law enforcement pursuit this week.
Michael Paul Hise was arrested Monday night. Police Capt. Ray Mattas says an officer initially tried to stop Hise for an illegal vehicle tag, but he fled. The chase lasted a few blocks before Hise was pulled over and arrested.
Hise was charged afterward with flee and elude and several traffic offenses, including covering a license plate with obstructive material. Following his first appearance Wednesday, Hise will have a pretrial conference May 22.
