Emporia High senior Emeil Bennett and freshman Emersyn Johnson each recorded a hat trick as the Lady Spartans claimed fifth place in the Titan Classic, 10-0, over Winfield on Saturday.
Bennett extended her season total to five goals after scoring one apiece against Salina Central and Campus. Johnson recorded her first career hat trick and extended her season total to four after scoring her first career goal against Junction City. Also tallying goals for the Lady Spartans was junior Katie Smart, who scored twice, extending her season total to five. Sophomore Peyton Chanley recorded her first two goals of the season.
Emporia High is now 3-1 on the season. The Lady Spartans will head to Wichita once more on Monday to play Wichita Southeast. Emporia High will play its home opener on Thursday against Chanute.
