The Emporia State women’s tennis team defeated Fort Hays State in MIAA play 6-1 on Saturday at the FHSU Tennis Courts in Hays, Kan. ESU took the doubles point with a pair of 6-1 wins by Andrea Santiago and Angelina Gnezdilova at #1 doubles while Perla Conde and Sheriden Wichman at #3 doubles. Conde went on to win 6-2, 6-2 in #1 singles while Lilie Bizourne, Gnezdilova, Paige Stranghoner, and Santiago all took their singles matches in straight sets. ESU returns to action Wednesday to host Washburn in the Turnpike Tussle at the Kossover Family Tennis Complex in Emporia. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
