Easter is full of traditions, and a local tradition took place again Sunday morning as Messiah Lutheran Church had its annual drive-in Easter worship service outside the Fairgrounds Anderson Building.
Music was a cornerstone of the event, along with the Easter message from Pastor Eddie Hosch. His focus this year was on expanding the Easter theme to the entire calendar, not just the holiday.
Over 100 vehicles were full of people at the Fairgrounds. The service was also available to KVOE listeners on 14 KVOE, 96.9 FM and KVOE.com.
Residents also had a chance to donate non-perishable food items to the Salvation Army. Over 100 items and nearly $240 were collected.
Messiah Lutheran had held a drive-in service for years but discontinued it after a drive-in theater closed. The annual holiday service resumed in 2010 and has been held every year since then.
