Monday’s severe weather risk came and went with no severe activity in the KVOE listening area.
Storms generally stayed south and east of Emporia for the entire event. As of 9 pm Monday, the only report of significant weather for area counties was nickel-sized hail in Vassar, which is slightly out of the KVOE listening area and too small to be considered a severe weather report.
As far as rain goes, the Emporia Municipal Airport got 0.01 inches of rainfall. There was nothing measurable at the KVOE studios, but several locations reported getting rain:
*Near Gridley: 0.60 inches
*Kansas Highway 99 at Lyon-Greenwood county line: 0.25 inches
*Lebo: 0.70 inches
*Neosho Rapids: 0.25 inches
*Toledo: 0.06 inches
Showers and non-severe storms are possible into early afternoon Tuesday. The rest of the week appears dry until a chance of showers and storms Saturday night.
