A preliminary hearing in a Lyon County case involving accusations of indecent liberties, kidnapping and burglary is being delayed.
Daniel Olivarez will return to District Court on May 6.
Olivarez currently faces 13 counts after an alleged incident in January. He’s accused of holding several people inside an Emporia home at gunpoint, having one of the alleged victims drive him to another location and then forcing a better than three-hour standoff before surrendering.
Officially, Olivarez is charged with aggravated indecent liberties, aggravated kidnapping, kidnapping, aggravated robbery, aggravated residential burglary, aggravated battery and aggravated assault. He’s also charged with witness intimidation, violating a protection order, interference with law enforcement and criminal threat.
