Kansas House 60th District Representative Mark Schreiber is running for re-election.
Schreiber has represented most of Emporia and nearby areas since 2017.
Schreiber is a graduate of Emporia State University and worked for nearly 40 years at Westar, now known as Evergy, before starting his political career. He is currently on the Education Committee, Judiciary Committee, Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications Committee and the Legislative Modernization Committee.
Schreiber, a Republican, defeated Democrat Mic McGuire in 2022, and McGuire has filed his paperwork to run for the seat. McGuire has said he plans to do an interview with KVOE News later this election cycle.
