Frosty conditions are coming to the KVOE listening area soon.
After a mild Thursday with highs in the low 30s, temperatures will approach freezing early Friday. As a result, the National Weather Service has Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties in a frost advisory from 2-9 am Friday.
Plants left outdoors may get damaged when temperatures are between 33-36 degrees, so residents who have started their planting are advised to cover any plants that have broken through the soil surface or to bring them inside if possible.
Friday should be mild and relatively calm after the frost melts away with highs approaching 70 degrees. Saturday should be windy and wet — and it could be stormy at times. All area counties are in a marginal severe weather risk area for the prospect of hail and wind.
