The Emporia State disc golf teams wrapped up the season with top five finishes at the Collegiate Disc Golf National Championships in Rock Hill, S. C. on Saturday. The ESU women’s Black team of Atlanta Krueger and Maya Ringgold finished at -7 for the championship to finish in third place. The Gold team of Rebekah Thompson and Sydney Snowden finished 15th. On the men’s side, the Hornet D1 men’s team of Isaiah Esquivel, Justin Farrell, T. J. Reel, and Cade Kohlmeier ended the Championships at -22 to place fifth. The DII men’s team of Abram Brazzle, Caden Stucky, Zachary Dyer, and Grant Yoder finished 11th in the D2 standings. In the first year of the program in its affiliation with ESU Athletics, the Hornet men were the national runner-up last season while the women were 16th a year ago. Liberty led wire-to-wire to win the women’s championship by two shots over Clemson While UNC-Charlotte held off Cincinnati for the men’s crown.
