Emporia High senior Edwin Maciel signed a National Letter of Intent to play collegiately at Walla Walla Community College in Walla Walla, Washington.
Maciel said Walla Walla men’s soccer coach Casey Collins and his coaching staff stood out in his decision to play collegiately.
Maciel missed his senior season at Emporia High due to an injury and said it was difficult to get to where he wanted to be after graduating from EHS. Maciel is currently playing for Emporia FC, a team coached by Emporia High boys soccer coach Victor Ibarra. Maciel was an honorable mention All-Centennial League and an honorable mention All-5A selection as a junior as a midfielder.
