Action taken by Lyon County Commissioners Thursday morning will mean due recognition will be given to the county’s emergency telecommunicators next week.
During their regular action meeting, commissioners approved signing a proclamation recognizing National Telecommunicators Week in Lyon County. National Telecommunicators Week, celebrated every year in the second full week of April, recognizes the work of emergency dispatchers and communications officers.
County commissioner’s action Thursday comes a week after the Emporia City Commission signed a proclamation of its own also recognizing National Telecommunicators Week.
Lyon County Emergency Communications Center Director Roxanne Van Gundy will join KVOE’s Newsmaker 3 segment at 8:40 am Monday to discuss the week in more depth.
Separately, commissioners had their regular reports and held a pair of executive sessions with no action taken. The Lyon County Commission will reconvene for its weekly meeting next Thursday at 9 am inside of the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
