Multiple area track and field standouts competed on the first day of the Shocker Pre-State Challenge in Wichita on Thursday.
Northern Heights’ Ellei McCrory won the girls elite 3,200m with a time of 11:00.69.
Madison’s Jalynn Weakley won the girls 1A-3A javelin with a throw of 118-8.
Council Grove’s Lakoddah Downes finished second in the 1A-6A 2,000m steeplechase with a time of 6:51.39. Jadyn Picolet finished third with a time of 6:56.41.
Olpe’s Lilly Skalsky finished fourth in the girls 1A-3A 3,200m with a time of 12:53.52.
Olpe’s Isaac Arnold finished fifth in the boys 1A-3A 3,200m with a time of 10:42.28
Madison’s Hayden Helm finished seventh in the boys 1A-3A javelin with a throw of 144-9.
Madison’s Lily Hudson finished 10th in the girls 1A-3A 3,200m with a time of 13:51.25.
