The Northern Heights girls track and field team finished second in the Travis Sheeley Memorial Invitational in Allen on Thursday.
Northern Heights recorded 134 points, finishing 49 points behind the team champion Northeast Kansas Nighthawks. Josie Tiffany won the 3,200-meter run with a time of 13:28.22 and took third in the 400m (1:07.93). Jaitlyn Johnson won the discus with a throw of 115-0 and the shot put with a toss of 30-4 and finished third in the javelin (84-5). Reese Houck won the high jump clearing 5-0 while Maylea Hamilin finished second (4-8). The 4x100m relay team of Addisyn Hinrichs, Alanna Brecheisen, Hayden Saunders and Johnson won the event in 58.04. The 4x800m relay team of Cathcart, Hinrichs, Brecheisen and Tiffany won the event in 11:50.85. The 4x400m relay of Brecheisen, Saunders, Maylea Hamlin and Houck finished second (5:05.25). Brecheisen finished second in the 800m (2:53.57) while Laura Cathcart finished third (2:54.57). Cathcart finished second in the 1,600m (6:26.82). Addisyn Hinrichs finished third in both the 100-meter hurdles (20.42) and 300m hurdles (58.32). Houck finished third in the triple jump (26-11).
The Northern Heights boys finished The 4x800m relay team Rees Spade, Max Olson, Jacob Merrill and Cooper Hamlin won the event in 9:40.10. Hamlin finished second in the javelin (110-0). Jacob Merrill finished third in the 300-meter hurdles (52.67).
The Olpe girls finished third with 51 points. Hana Cole won the javelin with a throw of 86-1 and finished second in the discus (97-1). Adrianna Sieberns finished third in the 1,600m (7:05.35). Gabriela Coughlin finished third in the 3,200m (17:55.86). Regan Geiger finished third in the high jump (4-8). The girls 4x800m relay of Sieberns, Coughlin, Geiger and Johnson finished second (13:40.38). The Olpe boys finished third with 65 points. The 4x100m relay team (Robinson, Redeker, Heins and Cale Steffes) won with a time of 51.36. The boys 4x400m relay team (Heins, Robinson, Weakley and Wagaman) won in 4:22.80. The boys 4x800m relay finished second (9:56.07) Cale Steffes finished third in the 200m (27.50). Garret Hammond finished third in the 3,200m (11:53.25).
The Osage City girls finished fifth with 29 points. Lillian Lohmeyer won the triple jump with a leap of 32-3.50 and finished third in the long jump (14-8) and third in the 100m (14.55) The 4x100m (Britschge, Burd, Lohmeyer, and Trego) finished third (1:01.55). The Osage City boys finished second with 102 points. Camo Jackson won the discus with a throw of 114-6 and the shot put with a throw of 38-10.50. Cameron Silgenberg took second in the discus (105-7) and in the shot put (37-2). Gunnar Tincher won the javelin with a throw of 115-0, while Harrison Bailey finished third (93-9). Tincher was third in the shot put (36-10.25). Daniel Shoemate finished third in the 800m (2:38.56). Colton Collins finished third in the triple jump (34-0). The 4x100m relay (Collins, Givens, Sanford, Sutton) finished third (52.92).
The Marais des Cygnes Valley boys finished sixth with 32 points. Landon Traver won the 300m hurdles (51.56), the long jump (18-1.25), and the triple jump (35-8). The MdCV girls finished sixth with 28 points. Akyra Traver won the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.48 and took second in the 300m hurdles (55.27).
