The Chase County baseball team swept Central Heights on Friday in Cottonwood Falls.
Chase County won the first game, 3-2, and followed that with a 4-1 victory in the finale.
In game one, Central Heights scored both of its runs in the first innings. Chase County added one in the second and one in the third before Wyatt Griffin scored on an error in the seventh. Colin Monihen went 3-for-4 at the plate for the Bulldogs and earned the win in relief, striking out three in 1 1/3 innings.
In game two, Central Heights led 1-0 after a half inning before the Bulldogs answered with all four of their runs in the bottom of the first. Josiah McKee went 3-for-4 at the plate. Masen Scott went the distance on the mound allowing one run on four hits and eight strikeouts.
Chase County is now 7-3 on the season.
In area softball on Friday, the Burlingame/Northern Heights Lady Cats split with Lebo-Waverly. The Lady Cats won the first game 12-6. Abi Jones and Siara Crouch each went 2-for-4 in the game for the Lady Wolfdogs. Addison Langdren went 4-for-5 for the Lady Cats with a home run and four RBIs. The Wolfdogs took the second game, 7-6. Allison Konrade with 1-for-3 with an RBI for the Wolfdogs. Harper Seele and Kaylin Noonan each went 2-for-4 at the plate for the Lady Cats.
The Osage City softball team swept Lyndon, 13-2, and 12-3. Peyton Pitts threw four innings of one hit softball in the first game and had eight strikeouts. Addison Watson went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs. In game two, Watson went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.Tayler Ericson drove in three. Gracy Smith got the win in the circle going the distance, allowing three runs on six hits and six strikeouts.
