A first official court appearance is coming next week for an Emporia man who allegedly led a short chase in the city limits this week.
Jose Martin Salomon-Ambriz will appear at 1:15 pm Monday. He’s accused of two counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement and one count of interference with law enforcement.
Salomon-Ambriz, 56, is accused of fleeing from law enforcement as officers were in the process of serving an arrest warrant against him Tuesday. Emporia Police has said Salomon-Ambriz nearly hit two officers with his car before entering a house in the 400 block of Rural. A Highway Patrol K-9 unit alerted to his presence and Salomon-Ambriz surrendered without further incident.
