Formal charges of fentanyl distribution are pending against an Arkansas man arrested in Osage County on Thursday.
Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells says the arrest of 30-year-old Julio A Casanovavega happened during a scheduled saturation patrol on Interstate 35. Casanovavega’s car was stopped near the Waverly exit, and Wells says deputies found 2,000 fentanyl pills in the vehicle.
Besides fentanyl distribution, Casanovavega was arrested on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended or revoked license and a registration violation.
Wells thanked the Junction City Police Department and Morris County Sheriff’s Office for their help with the saturation patrol.
