The Emporia High girls soccer team tied with Wichita Southeast on Monday night, 2-2.
Emporia High got out to a 1-0 lead thanks to a goal by Karah Cooper. The Lady Spartans extended their lead to 2-0 on a goal by Emeil Bennett assisted by Cooper. Wichita Southeast made it 2-1 before halftime and scored the game’s lone goal in the second half during regulation.
Emporia High is now 5-2-1 on the season. The Lady Spartans will play their second of three matches this week at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday hosting Topeka West.
